RESCUED, from under a bridge in a rural farming community in western NC. HANDSOME purebred Beagles: BRISCOE, ANDY & BARNEY had been seen/heard running in the woods, hunting and baying for well over a month. They had been taking shelter under a bridge and living off scraps the local folks were leaving out for them. Obviously, they had been abandoned/dumped by their past owner in the area. A bit skinny, skittish and tired, but otherwise in pretty good health. So, they must be decent 'pleasure hunters', but not good enough for past owner to want to keep feeding them. They are ALL very sweet and friendly, but hand-shy of humans, so this says a lot about their past owner/life. They want to trust, and are very happy to hang out with their person when they are certain that you/their human are trustworthy and mean them no harm/pain, ALL are outgoing, happy and have a sweet, gentle demeanor, & they LOVE to run & play!!! BRISCOE: dob 08/22/2015-13" tri-colored(black, brn and white), weighs 23lbs BARNEY: dob 08/22/2014-10" tri-colored(choc brown, tan and white), weighs 15lbs ANDY: dob 08/22/13-10" tri-colored(tan and black with white), weighs 13lbs Will make excellent pet for any single person or early retirees, or small families with respectful children and a secured fenced-in backyard. RESCUED(along with an older m, LabradorRtvr-rescued by another rescue) from a high-kill Animal Control in Laurens, SC when their owner went into a nursing home. dob: January 1, 2014...weighs 17lbs Miss Jenny is a COMPANION ANIMAL from morning til midnight. She is devoted and always seeks to please, friendly, gentle and genuinely sweet. Gets along great with all dog of all sexes, gender and age. Would do best with an active work-from-home person or early retired couple. With proper care, Ms Jenny will have another good 10yrs to share adventures with her people/person, so we will be seeking applicants who are currently no older than 65yo, & who do NOT live in an URBAN environment(suburb & rural=OK!). The more active you are, the better your chances will be of being approved to share UNconditional love and life's adventures with Ms Jenny. Walks well on-leash, crate-trained, housebroken, rides well in the car, loves to snuggle. This pup is in and will remain in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC until her fur-ever person/family is approved. Upon approval, transport is arranged, via HAPPY DOGS or LIFESAVERS RESCUED PET TRANSPORT SVCs, to points along the eastern seaboard(I-95>VA, DC, MD, DE, NJ(NJTnpk>Vince Lombardi svc plaza), Long Island, Rye & AlbanyNY, JohnstonRI, ManchesterNH, as well as AllentownPA and the I-81S corridor. Transport fee: $125 is to be paid by the adopter Upon request, we will be HAPPY to send you more pix and videos of this sweet girl, showing her demeanor and how she gets along with her people and the other sanctuary pals. Upon request, we will be happy to test her with cats. Because of her past life with an elderly person, we feel certain that she would prefer a quiet environment with no children living in the home. She has an 'old soul' who prefers an easy-going life, so we are here to help her find what we feel that she feels most comfortable with. She requires 3 1/2>1mi walks a day, and/or a safe and secure fenced-in back yard. However, dog parks may be a bit overwhelming for this little girl. To apply to adopt Ms Jenny, please complete the application provided at www.howlin4spirit.org/adoption-application/ and send asap to: howlin4spirit@gmail.com We will acknowledge your application, & then will send a short questionnaire to 3 of your personal references. CORA, dob: April 7, 2018 was rescued from an 'unwanted litter' situation in Rutherford Co, NC. Her mother is a Labrador Retriever and her daddy is a Dachshund...yep, that's what we were told, and the rest of the litter all had short legs, per folks who actually saw them. Howlin4Spirit obtained Cora through our vet's office, who took her in from the mother's owner, so we did not see any of the other puppies in her litter. At 9wo, Cora weighed in at 11.4lbs and we are expecting her to top out around 45>50lbs as an adult.. She is friendly, outgoing, playful & a spunky little gal who LOVES her people. Gets along well with other pups and respectful children. Will test with cats, upon request. She will be spayed, micro-chipped & receive her 1st yr Rabies vax on Mon/July 30th, after she has completed our strict quarantine of 3 puppy boosters before their surgery, and will be ready to go to her fur-ever family on Saturday/August 4th. Adoption fee: $225(includes spay, micro-chip, 3 of 4 required puppy boosters-DA2PP/2 Lepto/Bordatella & 1yr Rabies vax, monthly heart worm and flea/tick prevention, parasite-free, health certificate, all medical records from day#1 with H4S CARes including vet's surgical notations, 1/2 gallon bag of current dry food-Tractor Supply Store's '4health'-salmon & potato, beef knee cap bone, 'Rescued Dogs Rock' car magnet, 2 pet alert wallet cards, new nylon Martingale collar and matching 6' leash). Rescued from a high-kill Animal Control in western NC, after being given up by her past owner because 'I've got too many, now'. I.E., my dogs are breeding a LOT and now I have too many'= apparently, Edie is past her most 'prime breeding age' when he has soooo many to choose from. dob: June 1, 2013...weighs just 16lbs. Sweet, shy and a bit timid. Not housebroken...has always been outside in a kennel. However, we are seeking someone(prefer an early retiree, with no children) who has the patience and heart to help Wilma learn what love and a comfortable life inside a loving home feels like, for the 1st time in her life, in exchange for her unconditional love and devotion. Gets along great with other dogs and cats, but we feel that she would be best suited for a home without children, or other dogs(she might be too inclined to remain shy with people if she had other dogs to 'hide behind'. She walks well on-leash and is crate-trained. Not a barker! Edie is a quiet, gentle, SWEET little girl who just needs some 1-on-1 with a loving soul willing to give her time to learn that she isn't a 'piece of property' and a burden, that she/her feelings matter, too. adoption fee: $225(includes spay, micro-chip, DA2PP/Lepto/Bordatella & Rabies vax, monthly heart worm and flea/tick prevention, parasite-free, health certificate, all medical records from day#1 with H4S CARes including vet's surgical notations, 1/2 gallon bag of current dry food-Tractor Supply Store's '4health'-salmon & potato, beef knee cap bone, 'Rescued Dogs Rock' car magnet, 2 pet alert wallet cards, new nylon Martingale collar and matching 6' leash). dob: 2/17/2011..rescued from 'high-kill' Laurens Co, SC Animal Control after Mitzi was brought in as a 'stray'. We are convinced that she was owned by an older woman who just opened her door and let her out to go potty, and the woman may have gone into a nursing home or hospital and couldn't go looking for her Mitzi. Mitzi is a JackRussell/ChihuahuaX, with a bobbed tail and weighs just 10lbs. She is a devoted companion to her person. LOVES going for car rides, sleeping snuggled up against her person, walks well on-leash and is a great 'watch dog'. Protective of her food dish, so must be fed in separate corner from any other pets. Gets along with all size dogs, though seems a bit jealous of some older small females. Maybe had some competition, in her past life? Maybe not the best candidate for random dog parks...might get too excited around fast/playful LG dogs. Excellent watch dog....NOT a guard dog!!! Good with older, respectful kids...NOT GOOD WITH sugar-infused/hyper children! He doesn't need to learn bad habits from children who are prone to be 'bouncing off the walls' as dogs WILL pick up their people's energy levels and run with it. Will test with cats upon request. Happy, friendly, little snuggle-bum with MUCH love to share. Billy just wants to be loved, respected, get some playtime in, and a warm place to lay his head(tucked under your arm, watching tv from the couch/bed, preferably!) and never have to worry about having his belly be achingly empty, ever again. Would make a great companion for any size family with respectful children that has a secured fenced-in yard for playing ball or chasing the kids(an exhausted puppy will be an excellent companion with a most contented family!). No fence? Then, please don't bother to apply if this is your current situation. Apartments OK IF you work from home. He is used to being a mostly outside pet and would feel 'hemmed in' if he didn't have his peeps to be with/snuggle up to, and, play time outside. Having another play-pal would be MOST EXCELLENT, according to Billy! This pup is in and will remain in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC. Transport to out of state adoptive family is available via Happy Dog OR LIFESAVERS Rescued Pet Transport services, to all states along the Eastern Seaboard and upstate NY.
